Early Thaksgiving..

Tonight our church had a Harvest supper to celebrate Thanksgiving as a church family. It was wonderful. We had a full Turkey dinner.. (I made the turkey, whew, it was moist). Other traditional foods as well. We had great place settings with autumn tablewear, leaves, and votive candles at each table. Fall was definetly in the air. We all had thank you cards at each place setting that were there to write down the blessings that we have in our life and to share them with each other. I am blessed with my children, my husband, and a wonderful family. After a great meal and a fabulous dessert table that presented Fresh Raspberry Pie, pumpkin pie, chocolate cream pie, and assorted cookies,,, no one was left hungry.
The final touch was a door prize I picked up at a Christmas craft fair. It was a basket filled with snowman and Christmas ornaments. It was the perfect ending to a wonderful evening..
So Happy Early Thanksgiving and enjoy... Tracey

Night Fall

Wow, the days seem so short right now. I can't believe that darkness arrives at 4:30pm. I love the evening time so much and miss the warm summer nights under the starts in the hammock, around the fire, and just enjoying the quiet that surrounds me and the warmth from the day still in the air.
November in Maine is a very beautiful time of year. One of my favorites. I love the color burst of the leaves that seem to appear overnight. I love the cracking fire that is non stop in my woodstove now that the days and nights have cooled off, and I love baking cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin smelling foods coming from my kitchen that really give the flavor and scents of autumn. The only thing I hate is the night creeping up so fast. It's day and then night has come as quick as as thief. It steals the colors, the beauty of the autumn day.
Living here is good.. but a place where daylight lasts longer would be better.

Just starting out

well this is my first time blogging. I have a home in central Maine on my husbands family acreage. We live in an old farmhouse we have been fixing up for about 21 years. It never really seems to end. I sometimes feel like we bought the "Money Pit" many years ago.
I have two daughters , 24 and 17.. and one cat and one husband.. who is away a lot. I love crafting, creating things out of reused / re-claimed items. I am forever trying to save some cash and am an avid recycler.
Just wanted to get started.. will add more soon.
Hope there is an interest out there... Tracey
