Reuse, Recycle

If you haven't' figured it out by now..I'm an avid recycler. My family is on the committee in my town and we are forever trying to think of ways to use old items before we throw them out.

So here is one of my more recent ideas for a new jewelry box to hold all my rings and bracelets in. Not earrings or necklaces.. I have a better way to store them I'll share later.

I took an old Alli box and turned it into a decoupaged jewelry box and lined the inside with some Martini material I had in my craft room.. it was easy and something I can use and not waste the box into a landfill forever...try to rethink the uses of many items you may throw out. A Fabulous Award

I have to say a Big Thank you to Ashley over at Domestic Fashionista... she is wonderful. I can't thank her enough for all the great ideas she posts and for a great read everytime I go to her site.

So I am told to pass this along to blogs that I am addicted to and to tell you five things that I'm addicted to.. here it goes

1. Shoes.. I have so many pairs that I lost count and can't every pass up a pair that is on sale or a color that I don't have. I love flats, heels, boots, anything that goes on the feet and looks great.. someday a Jimmie Choo shoe will be mine!!

2. Blogging.. a new passion and now I can't stop. I can't wait to come home from work everynight and read up on my new blogging friends and find out how they are doing, new ideas, decorating and recipes.

3. Gardening.. I love my garden. I add things all the time to it and creating new gardens throughout my yard. I have a new patio, a new garden, a new hide away. I would love a greenhouse and a very private outdoor dining room.. an idea for later.

4. Decorating.. I love to decorate anything. My house, cards, gifts and anything else I can get my hands on. I get inspiration for magazines, books, and blogging friends like all of you.

5. Reading..I love books..anything for the most part. I love to read and try to get in as many books read as I can. I find them at yard sales, thrift stores and friends and families. I have more right now than I could possibly read at this point. But I Love to READ!! and I LOVE BOOKS...

Dream Book

The beginning of the year creates resolutions.. I've decided to try a dream book. A book filled with my dreams, goals and things that inspire me.
The cover has pictures, phrases, and words that somehow touch me in a certain way. Everytime I look at the cover I can picture a goal that I'd like to achieve and some things that just make me feel good. Inside the book, doodle, write, jot down ideas, glue pictures anything you desire. To start, begin the book with everything that bugs you.. unfinished woodwork in the living room, a baseboard not complete in the bathroom, or just a picture I'd like to hang.. little things or big things. Once they are written down you can begin to get them out of your mind and in a
manageable place to look at each one .... one at a time.
So it goes... my dream book/ goal book to help me really achieve the things I'd like in my future.

A Weekend shopping Trip

Over the weekend my husband and I took a day, just the two of us and decided to go to Freeport, Maine to LL Bean. It's a very busy place and I had to return a jacket and pick up a new one. It's always an adventure to go shopping there. It stays open 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, Yes even Christmas Day!

While we were there I found these great retro clocks. They are so cute. They come in great colors, green, pink, yellow, white, and blue. I want one so bad! I think I talked my husband into it as well. He even liked them very much.

I also had to put a picture of what Maine has to offer. The maple syrup in cute little leaf bottles just right to put on those great crepes or pancakes.. whichever you prefer.
