My Friend Miss(es) Canadian Pie

I have made a dear and wonderful friend.. Mandi , aka, Miss(es) Canadian Pie. I found her blog through another blog I often visit.... her name appealed to me since my daughter went to school in Canada her sophmore and junior year of high school to play ice hockey. So when I visited her blog and found what a sweet and wonderful spirit she had, I had to add myself to her follow list. She has since bestowed on me an award..

Books I love

I love to read. No doubt about it, I love to read anything and everything. I was never a reader in school. I think it's because I had to read and that's no fun having someone else pick your books and telling you that you have to read, it sort of takes the enjoyment out of it. So here are a few of the books I've read lately and would recommend them to anyone who really enjoys reading and a variety of topics. I hope you find something here you like and take a chance to read something you may not have picked out before... A book opens your mind to imagination and knowledge,,what's better than that!!

A Very Unique Love Story

Today is my Third Anniversary... my husband and I have a kind of unique love story. We had been married for 14 years when things began to unravel and we seemed to take each other for granted. So, we were divorced in 2001.

We had always tried to remain friends and stay in very close contact because of our then 10 year old daughter, Hannah. We attended all her school functions together and made sure she always knew how much we both loved her. In November of 2003 my husband was activated and then deployed to go to Iraq. He spent 12 months there and experienced things I don't ever want to. We talked, wrote and even instant messaged while he was there. During this time I think God spoke to both of our hearts and so we started talking about getting back together when he came home. No, it wasn't easy to start a new, but I knew in my heart Jim's face was the only face I wanted to wake to in the morning and the last I wanted to see at night and I knew we had many more things to do together in our life. With a lot of prayer, (from many of our friends and our church family), and with the presence of Jesus Christ in our lives, we were married again on January 21, 2006.... really the happiest day ever!! It's been three years and we are so happy. Things have changed very much and I believe we owe it to keeping Christ centered in our marriage and in both of our lives. Blessings to all today and help us celebrate!!!

After the snow

Well, it's Monday and I have the day off.. good thing it's time to clean up after a very large snow storm we had yesterday. We recieved about 12 inches of snow here in central Maine. Fluffy, puffy and light. It made shoveling easier. So thought you'd enjoy the aftermath of our snow here in Maine and yes it looks pretty, but I'm ready for a beach, a drink with and umbrella and lots of sunny weather...also don't forget to go to chocolateandmarmaldetea for a great giveaway with Michelle.
