January... is it over yet???

Well, it's dead of winter here in Maine and the days are short and the nights are long...January is almost over, but the winter is not. I've tried to get active this winter with buying snowshoes, getting outdoors and exercising. Funny, the winter isn't getting any better. I'm longing for the cool days of spring. Getting my seeds through the mail, planting them and watching them grow. The buds on the trees, the crocus popping through the earth and the days getting slightly longer. Oh spring.. come quickly!!!

Ever see the movie "The Shining"... it's getting like that here...I need a warm place to go and see the sun for at least 5 days in a row... How is your winter going???

Okay, remember I had to delete a post.. well there was one heck of a virus that hit my computer and I've been out of commission for awhile... so to update you on the happenings around..here it goes:

I had my 4th anniversary last week, so my husband and I went to Portland, Maine for an overnighter and enjoyed the less hassled every day and relaxed and enjoyed each other... We ate at the Fuji restaurant.. a Japanese restaurant in Portland.. it was great.

We stopped at Starbucks for a coffee and a snack and then checked into our hotel.. The Eastland Park Hotel. This is a picture of the room and the view at sunset.. the 12th floor!!

Then to the museum of Art and that was fantastic.. my precious husband purchased a pair of museum replica vintage earrings...mother of pearl and very vintage looking. Love them!! Last.. we enjoyed a drink and some food on the Top of the East.. a rooftop bar at the hotel..with a 360 degree view of Portland.

What a way to finish off the night...love my husband.. he is sooooo good to me!!
