Book Clubs

I have been part of a book club for the past two years.. this is going on year 3.  I love my book club, but I don't always love the books that are picked.
The reason I joined a book club was because I L-O-V-E to read!!!  I can't get enough. But, I felt that I was sticking to one kind of genre and needed to break out of my comfort zone and get introduced to some new authors and some new types of books.
Well, that is exactly what I've done.  I've read books that have really been good and have gone on to read other books by the same author and found new enjoyment. I've also read books that I wouldn't read past page 50 and put the book down because I won't waste my time reading something that totally doesn't interest me.
I've decided a long time ago that if I couldn't get into a book by page 50, then it was all over.  There are too many other interesting, good and wonderful books out there to waste my time on something that just isn't doing it for me.
How about you?? Do you love to read?? Do you read a book even though it doesn't grab you right away? I'd love to know your thoughts on this... Book Club tonight.... a book that I didn't finish reading..and not feeling guilty about it!
Happy Thursday to you!!

Hi Tracey, I do love to read, but can't seem to settle down with a book. I have two that I started and am about 2/3 through. I usually stick to autobiographies and biographies. (did I spell that wrong? doesn't look right.) I like fiction, but feel guilty reading it, like I'm wasting time that I could be really learning about someone or something---I don't know what's up with that!
